Family Health Centers of San Diego (Donor): Developed Project STAR to help transgender persons access health and other resources while educating about and advocating for the needs of San Diego’s transgender population. Through education and advocacy workshops, Project STAR has worked to increase healthcare providers’ and LGBT organizations’ transgender-specific cultural competency. The program provides a safe and supportive environment for transgender individuals looking for: employment assistance, counseling referrals, access to transitioning related medical services, and community support.
