Target Has More Than Christmas On The Agenda
Retailers often get involved in supporting certain agendas hoping to garner more sales and be seen as "inclusive or tolerant" of all people. This involvement runs the risk of appearing to condone bad behavior under the auspices of “corporate responsibility.”
For us to attempt to determine a clear motive for Target’s support of various groups and positions might possibly be construed as presumptuous. However, we all can and we all should look closely at their corporate actions which do, indeed, speak louder than words.
This month’s Cultural Polluter is Target Corporation, whose bias and agenda is abundantly clear.
Target has been included in the top ten corporate sponsors of anti-family programming on national television two out of the last three years (see Pollutants section). This, along with their history of sponsoring, promoting, donating and endorsing the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender (LGBT) lifestyles, paints a disturbing picture of a public company that has gone beyond serving all, into supporting an immoral cultural agenda.
Target’s corporate support of homosexual issues and agenda includes promoting and assisting their own company group --The LGBTA Business Council.
For us to believe that Target would ever monetarily and/or publically support a pro-life/pro-family organization or event in the manner they support anti-family causes may very well be wishful thinking.
Therefore, www.CulturalPolluters.org is simply asking that Target remain neutral in the social agenda arena.
