Kraft Foods, which began operations in 1923, has customers that are very "brand" loyal.  They have been known for producing and distributing such basic foods as Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, Oscar Mayer Hot Dogs, Oreo Cookies, Cadbury Chocolates and much, much more.  Their advertising, historically, has always been focused to reach the family with a message of wholesomeness; unfortunately this public image does not tell the entire story.

We have selected Kraft as this month's polluter specifically for the reason that, as we have documented with previous polluters, not all is what it appears to be when it comes to Corporate America.  What is especially egregious is when a company publicly espouses family values and then covertly promotes and financially supports anti-family behaviors.

A quick glance of our polluters section in the right hand column paints a grim picture of Kraft Foods, Inc...  From abortion and birth control to advertising on television programs that promote deviancy to the financial support and promotion of the homosexual lifestyle Kraft has been documented to say one thing, yet do quite another.

The question is, why is Kraft Foods, Inc. even engaged in these anti-family activities?  How does it benefit the company or its sales and if the bottom line for Kraft is the almighty dollar, why the hypocrisy?   Why risk over 87 years of positioning themselves as a company concerned with traditional family values simply to earn a few extra dollars.
